Kevin was invited to support the management of Transnet in the launch of a period of extensive investment and change.

Transnet is the largest rail operator in Africa and has implemented an ambitious plan to invest EUR 50Bn in the development of a world class infrastructure. This investment will support the repositioning of major South African industries and lead to the creation of up to 600,000 direct and indirect jobs promoting substantial economic growth in South Africa.

Speaking to the Transnet Exco, representatives of the group management team and directors from GIBS, Kevin shared his experiences of leading teams through periods of rapid growth and major structural change. He discussed how to manage out the typical fear of change and how to transfer the energy created into a positive and lasting culture of creativity and success. Sharing lessons from his executive career Kevin was able to provide practical examples of how the Transnet team could begin to encourage positive change in the everyday operation of the business.

The Transnet Exco were so impressed with the way Kevin raised and addressed the issues that they asked him to adjust his busy schedule and support the subsequent phases of their strategic programme.
